Cooks Standard Cookware reviews

The Pluses
  • AirFlow Technology allows handles to remain cool and ensures safe use
  • The Universal steamer has enough space for the 1.5-quart and 3-quart saucepans with ease
  • Solid and secure lids prevent any heat or moisture from leaving so enjoy the freshness of each meal
  • Economical but value for money
The Minuses
  • Does not support induction stovetops
  • Stainless steel is prone to marks and discoloration over time

What Does It Include?

It comes with a 1.5 and a 3-quart saucepan, an 8-quart stockpot, a steamer insert with lids, and an 8 and a 10-inch fry pan

My Opinion

I prefer the Cooks Standard Cookware collection because of two things; their economical pricing and the quality they offer for it. This 10-piece cookware set gives me everything I need in my kitchen especially when you consider it’s a clad cookware. This would be a wonderful gift, at least for me.

Cooks Standard 12-Piece Multi-Ply Clad Cookware SetThe Best-Clad Cookware!

Another great option in the clad cookware range of Cooks Standard Cookware; this set provides you with lots of options and is evident as you get a saute pan with it. The stainless steel build is appealing and gives off a shiny outlook. The crucial thing about stainless steel cookware is its build. Stainless steel, when used as standalone cookware is poor in regards to even heat distribution, hence the term ‘multi-ply’. A multi-ply clad cookware set is built with extra layers of metal such as aluminum and copper (in this case aluminum), that allows seamless heating and evenly cooked meals.

Cooks Standard Tri-Ply Clad Stainless Steel

The Pluses
  • Includes AirFlow Technology handles for safe grip
  • Affordable but great quality
  • The best cookware set for the holiday season
The Minuses
  • Poor aluminum core that results in inadequate heat conductivity which can be a major dealbreaker
  • No warranty
  • The lids are made of steel so you cannot observe your food while it’s cooking unlike transparent glass lids

What Does It Include?

It comes with a 1. 5 and a 3-quart saucepan, an 8-quart stockpot, an 8 and a 10 in. fry pan, an 11 in. 5 quarts saute pan, and a steamer insert with lids

My Opinion

This Cooks Standard Cookware set isn’t much different to me than the previous one, except it includes a saute pan; I like sauteing my veggies every now and then, so that may be it for some of you.

Cooks Standard Hard-Anodized Dutch Oven  – Quality Stockpot (My Personal Favorite)

The Cooks Standard Hard-Anodized Nonstick Dutch Oven Casserole Stockpot is a heavy-duty, big boy. Take care of your soup cravings and cook up enough stew to save some for later, thanks to its 7-quart size. The hard-anodized surface is a tough build and looks good as well. The interior has an aluminum core that provides brilliant heat distribution. The looped and riveted handles allow for a firm and comfortable grip. This cookware is the missing piece to your kitchen’s puzzle when you’re looking for that one cookware that will cook your ramen noodles, boil your water, sear your meat, and also cook enough for lunch and supper at the same time. With the AirFlow Technology, you won’t have to worry about hot handles when you’ve cooked a slow-cooked meal for an hour or so.

The Pluses
  • A great stockpot that cooks brilliantly with tempered glass; a stainless steel vent lets you leave it without worrying about letting the air out.
  • It is oven safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and the glass lid supports up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Minuses
  • This Cooks Standard Casserole Stockpot does not support induction cooking.
  • It is 7 quart in regards to its width but not its height so your food may not cook as deep.

My opinion

I personally love cooking slow-cooked meals in this Cooks Standard cookware piece because of its brilliant sealed lids.

Cooks Standard Professional Grade Stainless Steel Stockpot,Cook Your Best Stew!

The Cooks Standard Professional Grade Lid Stainless Steel Stockpot is like a charger. It has lots of power and great endurance. The 18/10 stainless steel build inside and out gives it a polished but elegant look. However your food will come out evenly cooked because of the aluminum disc layered at the interior’s bottom; thanks to this little tweak, there will be no hot spots developing. What’s smart about this cookware piece is its endurance in cooking those long stocks. The stainless steel lid is great at keeping the heat and moisture inside, as it is snug-fitting but also forms a seal. Moreover, the narrowed lip of the stockpot allows for ease of pouring without spilling any food.

  • The 30-quart size allows for multipurpose cooking.
  • You can sear, boil, jar, steam, etc. with ease.
  • It is induction-safe, is compatible with ceramic, glass, gas, electric, halogen, etc.
The Minuses
  • Stainless steel is prone to damage and discoloration.
  • Abrasive cleaners and harsh cleaning agents can damage the surface.
  • Cooking long-term on high heat can damage the build as well.

My Opinion

This Cooks Standard stockpot is great because of the various functions. It gives you lots of options in the kitchen and allows for many uses in everyday life situations which to me is a major plus point.

Cooks Standard Pasta Steamer Multipot – The Best Multipurpose Pasta Pot!

This Cooks Standard Pasta Steamer Multipot is one for the books. A 12-quart stockpot that holds a pasta pot and a steamer insert, serves for multipurpose cooking. You can boil potatoes, cook the best pasta, steam rice, cook your favorite ramen noodles, etc. Its 12-quart size allows for lots of space to hold food and protein. Its stainless steel built surface is durable and the aluminum disc at the bottom of the interior enhances evenly cooked food.

Cooks Standard Cookware

The Pluses
  • Supports induction cooking, gas, electric, glass, halogen, etc.
  • Oven safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Stainless steel lid that seals the top
The Minuses
  • Poor perforation spills water as the pasta pot is inserted
  • Prone to rust

My Opinion

I prefer this Cooks Standard Pasta Pot because of its versatility. I enjoy a cookware piece that gives me great functionality and this is one. I love cooking my chicken broth, or a family-favorite recipe of spaghetti. This cookware provides great heat distribution and performs great at low heat, therefore slow-cooked meals will taste delicious every time.

Care & Maintenance

Cooks Standard Cookware is dishwasher safe but it is always advisable to wash them by hand; especially when stainless steel pots and pans are prone to discoloration and scratches. Moreover, avoid harsh cleaning agents like oven cleaner sprays and steel wires. Instead, go for mild dish soap and soft scrubs. For stubborn grease, dip the pots and pans in warm water mixed with soap and let them soak in for a couple of minutes before gently scrubbing them and letting them dry off completely. If there are still tough stains that just won’t clean, boil your mix of soapy water and repeat the soak and rinse process.

On the other hand, the material is crucial. Stainless steel is an attractive texture to have but, they are prone to damage; avoid radical temperature changes. Don’t soak your hot pan immediately off the stovetop in cold water, instead give them time to cool down. Salt can damage your stainless steel pots and pans if you use it wrongly. Always wait for the oil to boil before you add salt as it can cause spots to form. Moreover, don’t use your Cooks’ Standard Cookware right out of the box and instead, soak them in warm water to get rid of any sticker and use lemon juice to rid of any glue. Stainless steel is usually built with multiple layers of metal (this is why they are called multi-ply). Cooks Standard Stainless Steel Cookware sets are built with layers of metal like the aluminum disc placed on the bottom surface of the interior; that’s why you get fast and even heating. Therefore, it is responsible to use them for searing your meat or browning your syrup instead of using a ceramic pan. However, don’t leave your Cooks Standard Stainless Steel pots and pans on the stovetop for long periods, especially boil-drying them as that will damage the surface and long term performance in terms of even heat distribution

Buying Tip – Should I Buy A Set?

Whether to buy a brand new Cooks Standard Cookware set immediately after reading this Cooks Standard review is a good question. We have to consider the setting of your kitchen; are you a chef at a restaurant? A home chef? Do you have a big family? These questions will help you approach this question well informed. We don’t really need a multi-ply dutch oven every day, frypans and skillets come in different sizes and depend on the number of mouths you feed every day. So you might want to order a couple of pots and pans from Cooks Standard and try them out and form your own opinion. But it is definitely not a bad idea to order your first Cooks Standard Stainless Steel Cookware set today if your old set is not as effective anymore and your family has many members.
